An exclusive laboratory in the historic Scottish Borders town of Kelso, offering the full range of dental laboratory services, with special emphasis on crown, bridge, veneer and implant work where an exceptionally high standard of ceramics is required.
How we work
Our aim is to deliver superior service and an exceptionally high quality end product to every client. Good communication between dental surgeon and technician, from treatment planning and throughout treatment, is essential to a successful outcome. It makes sure the treatment plan is viable from a laboratory point of view, that the result is as functional and aesthetically pleasing as possible, and above all that the patient's expectations are met.
Using only the finest materials and products is part of our approach. The key difference between our work and that of the average high-volume laboratory is the personal service we provide and the painstaking attention we pay to detail.
Made to match
We pride ourselves on ultra-realistic crown, bridge and implant work that is virtually indistinguishable from the natural teeth of each patient. To get there we make wide use of detailed shade and character matching, with digital photography of the patient's natural teeth.
We have a 100% success rate in providing an efficient, personal, high quality service to clients locally and further afield in the UK, and we welcome enquiries from dental surgeons and practices who demand exceptional quality and share our vision of functional and aesthetic dental excellence.
From Hawick to Kelso
- 2007
Vision Dental Laboratory is founded in Hawick with a staff of three.
- 2010
Wayne Flack is named Best Aesthetic Implant Technician at the UK Smile Awards.
- 2008
Wayne Flack is first registered with the General Dental Council as a dental technician.
- 2016
The laboratory moves to larger premises at Sydenham Cottage on Edinburgh Road, Kelso.
- 2017
Named Best Implant Laboratory at the UK Laboratory Awards. By then the team had grown fourfold, and clients included practices in England, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland as well as the Borders.
- 2018
Best Use of IPS e.max, and Best Dental Technician for Wayne Flack, at the Laboratory Awards.

The people
Getting the technical aspects right while also producing an end result for the patient which looks just like natural teeth, is hugely challenging.
More importantly, we have an amazing team of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated staff in the laboratory. Our success is a great tribute to each one of them.
